Carmuvo buys cars in Tacoma and across Pierce County, the whole city from the North End down through Hilltop, the South End, Eastside and Northeast Tacoma, plus everything within a short run of I-5 and Highway 16. Answer a few questions about the car, see a real number in about two minutes, and we come to you.
Tacoma is hard on cars in a specific way. Salt air off Commencement Bay finds the wheel arches and rocker panels of anything parked outside for a decade. The hills between Sixth Ave and the waterfront cook clutches and brakes. Cars come off the Narrows Bridge commute with 200,000 miles on them long before they look old. We price all of that as it actually is. A rusty, high-mileage car is not an insult here, it is most of what we buy.
The other half of our week is cars that stopped being worth fixing. The shop on South Tacoma Way quotes $3,400 for a transmission on a car worth $2,800. A student at UWT inherits a sedan that has not turned over since spring. Somebody moving out of a JBLM rental has three days and a car that will not survive the drive. Those all have a number, we will tell you what it is, and you can walk away from it with no hard feelings.
Pickup is free and usually within a day or two in Tacoma proper: driveway, curb, apartment garage, storage lot, or the repair shop that has been holding it hostage. You sign the title, we hand over payment on the spot, and you file your Report of Sale with the state within five business days. That is the whole thing.
Bring the title and a photo ID and the pickup itself takes about fifteen minutes. Our driver looks the car over against what you told us, you sign, you get paid. Check in hand, or ACH if you would rather not carry one. If something about the car turns out different from your answers, we talk about it there and then rather than quietly shaving the number; if nothing has changed, neither does the offer. Plates come off and stay with you, and we take it from there.

If you can’t find the title
We can usually still buy the car. What we need:
- the car is registered in your name, or you are the executor of the estate that owns it
- your photo ID matches the name on the registration
- any loan on the car is paid off, or your lender is willing to work with us on the payoff
A Washington replacement title takes usually a couple of weeks by mail, or same day at the Department of Licensing offices that offer Quick Title. Sorting it out doesn't change your offer.
What we can’t take on: cars registered to someone we cannot reach — a previous owner who signed nothing; abandoned vehicles left on your property, which the state handles through a registered tow operator.
